Handley 43 B.B. Comer 14

The Handley Tigers and their fans poured into Sylacauga to watch as the Tigers from Roanoke rolled over the home team B.B. Comer Tigers 43-14. Coach Mike Battles secured his 60th win as the Handley head coach. Quay Hunter started the scoring topping off a 59 yard drive with 10:13 to go in the first quarter.
It took the Tigers only 4 plays to put it in the end zone. The kick by Connor Boyd was good and Handley led 7-0. Chris Dillard added a one yard TD run after a fumble recovery on the Comer 9. Handley converted a two point conversion to make it 15-0 midway through the first. Quay Hunter added his second score capping a Handley three play drive of 53 yards. The PAT was good and the Tigers led 22-0 with 4:22 to go in the first quarter.
On Handley's first 10 offensive plays the Tigers scored 3 touchdowns. Trae Kyles added a 15 yard TD pass to Kevin Cook with 11:51 in the second to bring the score to 36-0 with 11:51 and Colby Floyd took the rock 14 yards with 10:34 to go in the first half. The halftime scored was Handley 36-0. After a dazzling kick off return to the Comer 25 by Herbert Staples, Breyon Deberry scored on a 6 yard run with 8:36 to go in the third. Boyd's PAT again was perfect and Handley ended their scoring at 43-0.
The Comer Tigers added two late touchdowns in the fourth to notch the final at 43-14. Handley now moves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in region play. Comer drops to 0-2 and 0-1. Handley travels to Beulah next Friday night while B.B. Comer travels to Wellborn.
